IMPORTANCE OF MUHURAT

Muhurat means 'an auspicious hour'. According to the Hindu calendar, “Muhurat’ is considered as an auspicious time. It is believed that at the time of Muhurat, planets align themselves in such a way that the work done during this time becomes fruitful and without the influences of evil forces. Trades made on this day are more for traditional, religious and sentimental reasons.

Traditionally, it is a common practice amongst Hindus to start or avoid starting significant tasks like religious ceremonies, etc. on the basis of the quality of a particular Muhurat. The Vedic scriptures also generally recommend one or more Muhurats to perform rituals and practices.

Since ancient times Indians have been worshiping external deities and considered the balanced way to abstain from repulsive forces. For this they found a way to astrologically perform practices which do not interfere with these forces. It's said that at times the planets align in such a way that whatever work is done during that time span gives fruitful results without any hindrance. Whenever people think of buying gold, they look out for Muhurat.

There are a lot of festivals celebrated in India which are considered as ‘Shubhmuhurat’, good time to invest in good deeds. Generally, people buy jewellery on Dhanteras, Diwali, Navratri, Rakshabandhan and sometimes even on Holi.

They purchase gold and gold ornaments because gold is considered as a symbol of luck and prosperity as most of the Indian goddesses wear these kinds of gold jewellery which strengthens and empowers them.

Even though some people think of Muhurat as just a superstitious belief we should always look upon the logical and proven reasons for why it is important and why it should be done. Muhurat has always been in the favor of people and has never caused any crisis. It has been relevant since ages.
